Rachael, add the extra A
My friends would tell you that I’m funny and always helping others.
My husband will tell you that I’m organized and that I have a nice butt.
My kids say that I’m “the best mommy ever.” I promise I didn’t pay them.
I am also an Enneagram 2. I enjoy the outdoors, but prefer to enjoy them from a comfortable chair. I like to work out, but hate sweating. I have to make sure I'm not overly sarcastic. I laugh a little too loud. I love flowers and tattoos. I don’t like peanut butter and I’m terrified of elevators.
I have been photographing humans professionally for 12 years. Before that I was a pro with a disposable. I may be older and a little uncool, but my years have given me not only experience behind the camera, but also in life. I've developed some vital skills - I can turn the awkward into awesome, soothe the crankiest baby, and can coach you through all the most flattering poses.
I've been married for 18 years and am a mom to 4 teens & preteens, so to say I have experience with chaos, attitudes, and stress would be the understatement of the century. I've got enough jokes, dance moves, and banter to help with any situation. And if all else fails, I carry drinks & snacks in my car.
I know that photos can be stressful, so I will always do my best to relieve that stress for you. I provide a session guide so that you can learn all the insider tips & tricks, as well as a style guide & help in styling your session. I also have you fill out a questionnaire so that I can get to know you & create the perfect session for you. Basically, I do the hard work so that you don't have to!
I love my job, the service I provide, and the memories that I preserve for my clients. I have fun doing my job, but I don't do it for the fun & frills - this is serious to me. I have photographed first moments, last moments, laughter, tears, personalities, and connections. Too many times, photos are the only thing left, so, yes, I firmly believe in myself & my part in your life.
The Woman Behind the Lens
I’ve had a camera in my hand since the 6th grade, and I turned my hobby into a business in 2012. I know my way around a camera, crazy kids, and cranky husbands.
I get very emotional / passionate about my job and have based a lot of this business on the ideas that
1 ) Humans are innately beautiful creatures in all sizes & stages, and
2 ) Memories deserve to be preserved because life is painfully short & unfair.
I’ve photographed everything from newborns to weddings, births to end of life sessions. Photos don’t have to be stressful - in fact, they shouldn’t be. Not only do I provide my clients with beautiful, classic photos, I give them all the tools they need to have an amazing session. Photos are edited with care & delivered with a smile.
So with all that said, welcome to Rachael Maxwell Photography, where the photographer is a little goofy, the experience is fun, and the photos are honest.

Home is Las Vegas, NV (no, I do not live in a hotel), so that is my primary area of service. Vegas may be home, but I am always available for travel to other cities and states. I'll take any excuse to explore! Please note that a travel fee will be assessed for all sessions outside of the Las Vegas Valley - this fee is custom to the job and will factor in flights, accommodations, and other necessary travel expenses.

Yes. In order to book your session, I require a non-refundable session fee as well as a completed photo agreement. This fee covers the preparation for your shoot, shooting time, and the editing of your photos. When you claim a date on the calendar, it means someone else may miss out on a session. While the session fee is non-refundable, it can be moved to a different date should you need to reschedule.

There are two options for mini sessions - if you are in need of a shorter session, you can book an anytime mini session for $350.
A few times a year, usually around the holidays, I offer blocks of speciality mini sessions. These will be offered in blocks on specific dates for an even bigger discount. We announce all mini session dates and locations on our social media accounts as well as our email newsletter.

You will be required to pay the balance of the package you booked. From there, you can chose additional downloads, prints, and other product options. Your gallery stays up for 14 days, so you can spread out your purchases, or contact me for a payment plan option.

I edit all of the best images from your session. When you receive your gallery, you can order your favorites or upgrade to the full gallery. This means that you can preserve the images you love the most in the way that works best for your home! I am available for post-session consultations if you need help choosing which images to download or print. We can discuss your wall space, your budget, and which images mean the most to you to come up with a display you can enjoy.
